This keynote explores the context of data in our current landscape, and the importance of everyone knowing the numbers and being able to engage in data conversations. Selena unpacks the three key elements of the effective use of data: data literacy, data visualisation, and data storytelling, then talks about ways we build skill in people who don’t feel that using numbers is in their wheelhouse. The session will also cover some of the key ways that we can best use and communicate numbers to other people, so they can use it to benefit their work and their team.

To help protect both the users and the enterprise services, Universities have or are in the process of rolling out Multi Factor Authentication to their user population. There may also be initiatives to improve the identity verification processes, but this has been less discussed but complements a higher level of credential assurance. This presentation will discuss AAF initiatives to extend institutions MFA and Identity assurance to services provided by the AAF and eduGAIN. AAF is developing strategies to implement the REFEDS MFA Profile and REFEDS Assurance Framework, global standards in assurance. Discuss the implications for institutions to participate in these standards and the benefits it will bring.

Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) provides complete hardware-level remote control capabilities for
PC models that include Intel AMT hardware. This capability has been available for many years in the Dell OptiPlex
models purchased by Griffith. However, a major barrier to implementation has always been complexity and the
poor quality of documentation/software/support provided by Intel. This presentation will share how Griffith overcame
these barriers to successfully implement Intel AMT in our computer labs.
CQUni is currently in the process of refreshing its compute and storage infrastructure at their Rockhampton and Equinix (colo) sites. Join CQUni on a journey through tenders, vendors, and procurement processes.
Discussion and information session on network requirements for the sector (deployment, enhancements & automation)
Managing Apple macOS fleets presents many unique challenges. Each new generation of macOS seems to introduce different difficulties for managing these platforms. Cloud in the higher education sector can be complex to justify and building a model that allows transparent decision making is key to its success so that the business understands the value proposition. It is important to understand that there are a number of factors and challenges that need to be considered in order to deliver a successful digital transformation using cloud.
There is increasing demand within teaching and collaboration spaces to enable people to wirelessly mirror the display of their tablet and laptop devices to large screens. In a small home environment this is relatively easy. However, it is very challenging in a large-scale, secure, shared environment. This presentation will demonstrate and discuss how Griffith has implemented the AirServer product to provide an effective solution.
